Do you have a mountain bike but don’t feel comfortable riding on dirt? Want to improve your skills? Learn some tips to help you enjoy your fat tire bike by coming to the Ocmulgee Mountain Bike Association’s Beginner’s Clinic. Bring your bike and we’ll get you started on The Pig Trail at the Georgia Industrial Children’s Home, located at 4690 Mumford Road in Macon.
Mandatory: You MUST have a helmet and a fat tire bicycle. We aren’t brand snobs, but it must be a bicycle in safe, working condition.
All ages are welcome, but please, no bikes with training wheels. Riders must be able to ride unassisted. We’ll share tips on shifting gears, turning, braking, climbing and descending hills, riding over roots, setting up your bike, and more. Don’t be embarrassed if you’ve had your bike a while and haven’t figured it all out. We’ll help you!
The clinic lasts three hours and you’ll spend about 2 hours on your bike. You’ll need a water bottle/bottle cage or a hydration pack.
OMBA will host a cookout after the clinic for participants. Please RSVP to kath.oneal@gmail.com so we will have a head count. Questions? Feel free to email or call 954-6414 and ask for Kathleen.
